How We Began.
Naturally for Paws opened its doors on July 1st, 2000 with the emphasis on natural. Susan Nodar, the founder of Naturally for Paws, was born in England and spent her childhood between England and the United States. Her parents were the "original health food nuts" - vegetarians and her father grew his own organic fruits and vegetables. He manufactured all natural beauty products and was way ahead of his time in this regard. They shopped at the one and only mom and pop health food store in Manchester, England. Nutrition has always been a part of Susan's life and she became aware of the need for a more natural diet for our faithful companions, who rely on us to keep them healthy.
It was from these beginnings that Naturally for Paws was born - a pet store for dogs and cats dedicated to their health and well being through natural pet food. Susan's aim was for a people-friendly, spotlessly clean pet store where employees are knowledgeable about pet nutrition and to help pets attain optimum health through natural pet food nutrition, working with the pet's natural healing process. Naturally for Paws specializes in species appropriate diets – raw foods and supplements and the best quality kibble, canned food, and natural treats.

Aleshea is our wonderful, caring, kind and gentle groomer. She was born and raised in Port Angeles, Washington on her family's farm. As a small child you would find her trimming nails of not only her own dogs but the farm animals too! She studied grooming at the Malser's Grooming Academy in Seattle and apprenticed with a lady who showed standard poodles. Aleshea loves to groom poodles (something many groomers do not like to do). In fact, she's as happy as the day is long grooming any kind of canine.
Rex is our bather who has never been without a dog his entire life. He was born in Los Angeles, California and worked in production for the studios. He teaches karate and is presently opening his own Jui Jitsu studio in Ventura two doors down from Naturally for Paws. We asked him if he will continue bathing our dogs when his studio is open and he declared "I love it here and I could never leave all my dog friends!" Aleshea tells us the dogs he bathes come out squeaky clean (no squeaks or squeals though as they are all happy being washed by strong, gentle Rex).
