The Story of Laslo the Dog.
On November 21, 2006, Laslo, a Pomeranian, was picked
up by Animal Control in the San Fernando Valley after wandering the streets
for many weeks. He was in bad shape with a scurvy skin condition, fleas and
completely matted coat. He was coughing and his teeth were in extremely poor
shape. He was estimated to be approximately twelve years old. His body was
so thin that the bones stuck out. On December 8, 2006, Laslo was to be euthanized.
A person from a rescue group went to the shelter and was told that this was
Laslo’s last day on earth. The employees were very sorry as they said in
spite of the bad shape he was in, he was friendly with both people and other
animals. A very kind lady offered to sponsor him and pay his vet bills and
so Laslo was taken to a vet in Beverly Hills. He was completely shaved down
and most of his teeth were removed. He was a sorry sight when I received
an e-mail from the rescue group with his picture. I could not get his little
face out of my mind. Several days later I arranged to see him at the vet’s
office with the possibility of adopting him, even though I have two other
dogs at home – a Pom and a Black Lab mix.
Finally, I was handed Laslo. He was completely groggy from the anesthetic they
had given him to remove his teeth, shaved down to the scurvy skin and emaciated.
He could hardly hold himself up to walk, even after the anesthetic wore off.
I was told by several people in the vet’s office that they admired me for
taking this poor creature on. But how could I leave him? I knew if anyone
could get life back into him it was me! Well armed with different kinds of
pills, I took him home. He was fed Great Life kibble and the Enzymes-Pro
supplement and each week there was improvement. His fur began to grow and
what a beautiful light apricot color it turned out to be. It has been nine
months since I picked up my little boy and what a beautiful dog he is. When
I take him for walks he becomes the center of attention by all the passers-by
and they all want to touch his amazing coat. I have also been giving him
the Joint Support supplement "Joint Strong" and the difference in his muscle strength is
amazing. He loves to run even at his ripe old age for a Pomeranian.
